Firefighters swiftly brought a fire under control inside a senior living building in Newark’s Central Ward early Friday morning.
Crews were dispatched to New Community Gardens Senior Living, located at 265 Morris Avenue, shortly before 3:15 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke on the 10th floor and quickly located the source of the fire inside an apartment on that floor.
The blaze was contained in under 30 minutes, and no serious injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
