Newark Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred overnight in the city’s West Ward, where a man was injured amid reports of a large crowd gathered for a possible music video film shoot.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of South 8th Street, between 15th and 16th Avenues, after receiving reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police encountered a sizable group of people, some of whom appeared to be participating in or observing a film production.
Authorities located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
While canvassing the area, officers also discovered that a bullet had entered a nearby apartment, though no additional injuries were reported.
At this time, it is unclear whether the film activity is connected to the shooting. 
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
