UPDATE: Suspects Sought in Rifle Attack at East Orange McDonald’s

Authorities in East Orange are actively searching for suspects following a violent shooting involving a rifle that left several people injured at a McDonald’s restaurant early Sunday morning.

According to a statement from East Orange police, the incident occurred on June 22 at approximately 12:29 a.m., when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the McDonald’s located at 375 Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and began canvassing the restaurant and the surrounding area.

During the search, they discovered as many as four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

All of the victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment. Police said none of the injuries were reported to be fatal, and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office was not involved.

East Orange Police officials told RLS Media that both a handgun and a rifle were used in the shooting. It is unclear whether the victims were targeted or simply ordering food at the establishment.

Authorities have not yet released information about a motive or the identities of any suspects involved.
