Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Jersey City, where police recovered shell casings but found no victims at the scene.According to initial reports, officers were dispatched just before 1 a.m. to the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Wilkinson Avenue after receiving multiple calls about gunfire.
Several police units responded and located spent shell casings at the scene.
A search of the surrounding area did not turn up any shooting victims, and no injuries have been reported at this time.
Police secured the scene with crime tape as detectives collected evidence and canvassed the neighborhood for information.
No arrests have been reported, and the motive behind the gunfire remains unclear.
