Authorities in Paterson are actively searching for a suspect connected to an early morning shooting that left one person hospitalized.
According to officials, the incident unfolded around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, when staff at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center alerted police after a male victim arrived at the emergency room suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paterson police responded to the hospital and interviewed the victim, who told investigators the shooting occurred near the intersection of Haledon Avenue and North Main Street.
Officers canvassed the area and confirmed evidence of a shooting at that location. No other injuries were reported.
The suspect remains at large, and the investigation is being led by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
