Trenton Police have launched an investigation into a shots-fired incident that occurred Thursday night in the city’s East Ward.

Authorities said the incident began around 9:45 p.m. when a ShotSpotter device detected gunfire in the area of 800 Greenwood Avenue.
Responding officers arrived on the scene and began searching for two vehicles believed to have been involved in an exchange of gunfire.
One of the vehicles was later located on West State Street, where police detained the driver for questioning.
Shell casings were recovered at the scene, but no injuries have been reported.

The investigation remains active, and officials have not yet released details on the second vehicle or any possible suspects.
