NJ Officials Investigate Electrical Incident That Injured IHOP Employee

Camden County authorities are investigating an incident that left an IHOP employee with burn injuries after reportedly coming into contact with electrical wiring Saturday night.

According to preliminary information, the situation happened shortly before 8 p.m. when staff at Virtua Urgent Care in Berlin contacted police after a person arrived at the facility with visible burn injuries. 

The individual, identified only as an employee of the IHOP restaurant, was treated on site before paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital for further care.

Authorities said the victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. 

Investigators are working to confirm whether the electrical-related incident took place at the IHOP located in the 200 block of NJ-73 in West Berlin.

The circumstances surrounding how the employee came into contact with electrical wiring remain unclear, and the case remains under active investigation.
