Authorities have arrested two New Jersey men in connection with a pair of armed hotel robberies that took place in Bergen and Essex counties last September, following a months-long multi-agency investigation.

According to a statement released by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, investigators charged Jibril M. Beamon, 32, of Somerset, and Shedrick A. Goodridge III, 35, of Jersey City, in connection with the robberies of two hotel lobbies — one in Teaneck and another in Newark — that occurred just two days apart.
On the morning of September 21, 2024, Teaneck Police responded to the Hampton Inn after reports of an armed robbery. Employees told officers that a masked man entered the hotel lobby around 5:15 a.m., brandished a handgun, and demanded cash from the register before fleeing.
A joint investigation was quickly launched by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Teaneck Police.
Detectives later linked Beamon and Goodridge to a similar robbery that occurred on September 19, 2024, at the Comfort Suites in Newark. In that case, the suspects were also masked and armed when they held up the front desk clerk and escaped with cash.
After months of investigative work, authorities identified both men as the individuals behind the coordinated robberies. On May 22, 2025, law enforcement teams executed separate search warrants at the suspects’ homes.
Beamon was arrested in Somerset with assistance from the Somerset County SWAT Team, while Goodridge was taken into custody in Jersey City with support from the Hudson County Regional SWAT Team.
Both suspects were charged with multiple counts related to armed robbery and illegal firearms possession.
They are being held at the Bergen County Jail pending detention hearings in Superior Court in Hackensack.
The investigation involved the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad, Teaneck Police Department, and Newark Police Department.
