Hackensack Firefighters Contain Dumpster Blaze That Threatened Building

Firefighters in Hackensack swiftly responded to a late-night fire Monday after flames from a burning dumpster began to spread toward a nearby building.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Kaplan Avenue. 

Fire crews were initially dispatched following reports of a possible building fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a dumpster fully engulfed in flames, with the fire beginning to extend toward the adjacent structure.

Crews quickly stretched two hose lines to douse the flames and shield the building from further damage.

The blaze was brought under control in under 30 minutes, and firefighters were able to prevent any significant damage to the structure. 

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under active investigation.
