Police in Elizabeth are searching for a suspect involved in a shooting that left one person injured Friday night.
According to officials, officers were dispatched around 9:27 p.m. to Morris Avenue following reports of shots fired.
When they arrived, they found an unidentified individual suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been released at this time.
Police established a crime scene and canvassed the neighborhood for additional victims and potential suspects.
No other injuries were reported, and the motive behind the shooting remains under active investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Elizabeth Police Department.
