Police Investigate Shot-Up Car, Injured Victim in Early Morning Jersey City Shooting

Jersey City Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured and caused property damage early Sunday morning.

According to officials, police were alerted when Jersey City Medical Center staff notified them that a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital. 

The victim reported being shot while inside a vehicle near the intersection of Newark Avenue and Jersey Avenue.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they found the victim’s vehicle parked outside with multiple bullet holes. 

Police then canvassed the area where the shooting occurred, searching for evidence and checking for additional victims.

As of 5:30 a.m., Sunday, no other injuries had been reported. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, and they are expected to recover.

The motive for the shooting remains under active investigation, and no arrests have been announced. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
