Search Underway for Missing Bloomfield Teen

Authorities in Bloomfield are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager who disappeared from a local supermarket over the weekend and may be in the Newark area, according to a statement released by the Bloomfield Police Department.

The missing child, identified as Avah DeLeon, was reported missing by a family member on Sunday, April 27, 2025. 

Police say that around 6:37 p.m., Avah was inside the Stop & Shop store with her father when she suddenly ran out of the building and disappeared.

Avah is described as 5’9” tall with a medium build.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray t-shirt, and red and white sneakers. Authorities noted that Avah has a documented history of running away and was previously located in Newark after a prior incident.

She has been officially entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as a missing person.
