Newark police are investigating a shooting that left one man seriously injured Friday afternoon, according to a statement released by the Newark Police Department.
Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda reported that officers responded to a call of shots fired near the intersection of Park Avenue and North 7th Street at approximately 1:50 p.m. on April 25, (today).
Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was quickly transported to University Hospital, where he is being treated. Authorities described his condition as serious but stable.
At this time, no arrests have been reported, and investigators are continuing to gather information.
Police have not released details regarding a potential motive or suspect.
The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
