Paterson police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning in a residential neighborhood.
According to authorities, at approximately 3:10 a.m., a ShotSpotter alert notified officers of possible gunfire in the area of Wood Street and Wait Street.
When police arrived at the scene, they located several shell casings, confirming that a shooting had taken place.
A thorough search of the area was conducted, but no victims were found.
Investigators believe a male suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Paterson police.
