Authorities in Union County announced that on Thursday, April 10, Devon Scuccimarri, 28, of Piscataway, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide in connection with a motor vehicle accident that left two individuals dead.

Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel stated that at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 5, 2024, a fatal motor vehicle accident occurred in the intersection of US 1 & 9 and South Stiles Street in Linden involving an Infiniti G37, driven by Scuccimarri, and a Freightliner Tractor Trailer.
Upon arrival, Linden Police Officers discovered the Infiniti’s front seat passenger, Ahmad Campbell, 25 of Edison, deceased at the scene, UCPO officials say.
According to Union County officials, the other two occupants of the Infiniti, Scuccimarri and rear passenger Melvin Jones, 24 of Piscataway, were transported to Newark University Hospital with serious injuries.
Jones later succumbed to his injuries at Newark University Hospital, Union County officials stated.
UCPO authorities said the initial investigation indicated the Infiniti went through a red light while traveling at a high rate of speed and collided with the tractor-trailer, which was making a left-hand turn.

Following his arrest, Scuccimarri was processed on the above-mentioned charges and remanded to the Union County Jail, Union County officials said.
