Authorities are searching for a suspect who opened fire in a Paterson neighborhood Monday evening, causing property damage but no reported injuries.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. near the intersection of East 25th Street and 17th Avenue.
According to initial reports, a ShotSpotter device detected multiple gunshots and alerted officers to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located several shell casings scattered on the ground.
After canvassing the area, police discovered a parked vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. No one was inside the vehicle at the time, and there were no victims found at the scene.
The shooter fled the area before police arrived and remains at large.
The motive behind the shooting is currently under investigation.
