A pedestrian was struck Sunday evening while attempting to cross at the Market and Washington Street intersection.
At approximately 7:10 p.m., emergency responders were requested to the intersection after learning of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police and EMS found the unidentified person suffering injuries after a driver struck the victim at that location.
EMs transported the injured to University Hospital for treatment, and non-life-threatening injuries were reported.
The incident is under investigation by Newark Police.
