50K Reward Offered for Info on Missing Ocean City Man

Ocean City New Jersey

Authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the whereabouts of a man who has been missing for six years today.

John T. Weisbecker was 21-years-old on March 11, 2009, when he spoke to his mother at their home in the morning. Later that day, a mailman saw a side door at the home open, the FBI said in a statement. He never arrived for work at the Kessel's Korner sandwich shop, where he was scheduled for the following day.

Authorities believe someone abducted Weisbecker from the home and that the abductor or abductors was known to Weisbecker. Authorities also think whoever is responsible for Weisbecker's disappearance is familiar with Cape May County.

The State Police, Ocean City Police, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office as well as the FBI are all investigating Weisbecker's disappearance.

Weisbecker is white, stands 6'2" and weighed about 180 lbs. at the time he was last seen. He was born Dec. 30, 1987.

The FBI, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean City Police Department are jointly offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information on Weisbecker's whereabouts.

Anyone with information is asked call the FBI at 973-792-3000.
