Police made no arrests in a shooting incident in the city's West Ward on Monday afternoon.
The board daylight shooting happened just before 1 p.m, police responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of South 9th Street and 12th Avenue.
Police arrived and found several shell casings on the ground, but officers canvassed the scene and located no gunshot victims.
Residents in the area said they believe that loitering drug dealers near the intersection is the motive for the shooting.
Newark Police have not made an arrest in the shooting.
