Linden Police said Mr. Michael Ohman Jr., 57, of Jersey City, was struck on the 700 block of E. Elizabeth Avenue as he crossed the street.
Police said Ohman was transported to Newark University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased late Thursday.
"It is with great sadness that we must report that the man injured in Wednesday's auto-pedestrian crash has succumbed to his injuries," police officials said.
This crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force.
