Car Stop in Linden Leads to the Arrest of Three Plainfield Residents

Three Plainfield residents were charged with possession of narcotics following an early morning traffic stop, police said.

Patrol officers sometime around 1:30 a.m., observed a 2000 Infiniti traveling at a high rate of speed on East St. George Avenue.

Officers pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of N. Wood Ave. and approached the driver, later identified as Brandi S. Jones, 18, of South Plainfield. 

Officers who approached the car, smelled a strong order of marijuana. According to police, the occupants told officers that they were coming from a house party where they were smoking marijuana.

Jones was found to be in possession of a “molly” - which is  #MDMA - officers also seized from the vehicle a plastic bag containing greenish-brown residue and a Ruger Lone Star 9mm automatic BB gun.

The two occupants, Tony D. Hines, 21, and David J. Legrand-Bowers, 22, both of Plainfield, were charged with possession of narcotics paraphernalia and released on summonses.

Jones was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and motor vehicle offenses of careless driving and operating a vehicle while in possession of narcotics. 

She was also released on a summons.
