Police reported two injuries in a shots-fired incident that erupted in Newark's Central Ward.
According to police, University Hospital received two victims suffering gunshot wounds at approximately 11 p.m.
Newark Police officers and detectives set up a crime scene in the area of Kent and South 10th Street where they found shell casings and other evidence.
Police say the suspects fired several rounds in the victim's direction, then fled the scene and remained at large.
The injured are reportedly in stable condition.
Police have not reported a motive for the shooting at this time.
