Occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire late Friday night on a street in Newark’s Central Ward, according to authorities.
Witnesses in the area of Clinton Avenue and Quitman Street said just before 11:21 p.m., they reported hearing between over a half dozen shots from two distinct guns.
They told police the shots between the two vehicles started in front of an address on continued a short distance down Clinton Avenue, according to the report.
Police recovered multiple casings in the area but the suspects remain at large.
No reports of any victims were made to police or area hospitals.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
