South Ward Shooting Under Investigation in Newark

Newark South Ward Police conducted a crime scene investigation for a shots-fired incident early Friday morning. 

Police said at approximately 12:50 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Hobson and Dewey street to investigate reports of shots fired. 

Upon arrival, police found several shell casings after canvassing the scene for victims. Police reported no injuries or property damage. 

Newark Major Crimes unit was called to the scene to assist in the investigation. 

The suspect has not been captured at this time.
