Police officials in Newark's North Ward continue to investigate a shots-fired incident in a neighborhood in that part of the city late Thursday night.
According to authorities, police were called to the area of 51 Chester Avenue after residents reported hearing gunfire in the area around 11:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings, but after canvassing the community, no victims were found.
Police said the suspect fled the scene and is at large.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
