One person suffered injuries after gunfire rang out in a section of Newark's North Ward on Thursday.
The late-night shooting happened just before 11:55 p.m. near 736 Broadway.
In a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired and when they arrived, they found an unidentified person suffering non-fatal gunshot wounds.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital for treatment while police continued to investigate the motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
