Police have a crime scene established in a section of Newark’s South Ward while investigating a shooting at this time.
Officials said it happened around 7 p.m. near 49 Evergreen Place.
According to police, shooters armed with guns fired multiple at unknown targets before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
Police checked hospitals in the region for walk-in victims suffering bullet wounds, but no injuries were reported.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
