Suspects Armed with Paint Guns Shoot Field Sanitation Technician in the Face in Newark's Ironbound Section

There is an active search for several suspects armed with paint guns who drove around the city, firing at residents and some essential employees working during the overnight in Newark. 

According to police, at around midnight, a field sanitation technician collecting trash on Admas Street in the city's Ironbound section was targeted by suspects occupying a gray minivan. 

Police say the victim was struck in the face by paint fired from a gun used by the suspects. 

Officials say the worker did not suffer serious injuries. 

While police investigated the Adams Street shooting, two residents in the area of Chestnut and Pacific street were struck by paint as armed suspects fired at them while on the street. 

Police believe that a dark-colored SUV accompanied suspects in the gry minivan. 

The incident remains under investigation.
