Police in Newark are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a man in the city's West Ward on Tuesday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 50's block of Munn Avenue around 9:45 p.m.
Police say officers arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a non-fatal bullet wound at that location.
According to police, the injured was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. Police say the victim is around the age of 18-years-old.
There was no information provided on the arrest of a suspect at this time.
