Warrant Issued for Suspect in Newark Aggravated Assault Shooting

Newark Police have announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for Travis A. Rogers, 28 of Newark who is wanted for aggravated assault when he shot an individual on November 17.

According to police, officers responded to a call about a shooting in progress at 10:46 a.m. in the 500 block of Clinton Avenue. They were flagged down by bystanders, who directed them to the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers assisted the victim, who was shot during an argument with the suspect until an Emergency Medical Services unit arrived to take him to the hospital.

Police report that Rogers, identified as the shooter in this investigation, is described as 5’0’’ and 130 pounds. He has brown eyes and a medium complexion.
