Police in Newark are investigating two separate shooting incidents that caused injuries at locations in the city on Wednesday night.
In the first incident, a ShotSpotter device detected more than a dozen rounds of gunfire that rang out in the 30's block of Hunter Street around 8:35 p.m.
Police officers arrived at the scene found a male victim suffering two bullet wounds in his leg at that location.
The unidentified victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the second shooting incident happened just before 9:10 p.m. in the vicinity of Hedden Terrace and Clinton Avenue.
Units arrived at the scene found a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds after a suspect fired at him at that location.
Police say the man was rushed to University Hospital in severe condition and the suspect remains at-large.
It is not clear if the two shootings are related at this time and the motives are under investigation.
