A male gunshot victim is being transported to University Hospital in Newark after he was shot at a location in Elizabeth this morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 454 Spring Street just before 11:05 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in his side at that location.
The extent of his injury is stable, according to Elizabeth City spokeswoman Kelly Martins.
No arrests have been reported at this time.
