Police found a crime scene near the intersection of 17th Avenue and Hunterdon Street after a male gunshot victim entered University Hospital this evening.
According to police, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officials at the hospital contacted authorities when the injured male entered the emergency department suffering gunshot injuries.
Police say they found shell casings in the South Ward community, but the suspect remains at-large.
The latest shooting is the fourth person shot, with one dead, in less than 24-hours in Newark.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
