Shell Casings Recovered in Newark 16th Avenue Shooting

There were no injuries reported in a shots-fired incident that erupted in a section of Newark's Central Ward overnight.

According to police, at approximately 2:10 a.m., gunfire erupted in the 100 block of 16th Avenue near South 7th Street.

Police officers arrived at the scene found ballistic evidence, but after searching the community, no victims were found.

According to police, an unidentified armed male arrived in the area and began to fire repeatedly at unknown targets before fleeing the scene.

Police say the suspect remains at-large.
