Elizabeth Firefighters Battle Three-Alarm Building Fire

Firefighters in Elizabeth battled a 3-alarm fire that erupted at a location in the city Monday night.

According to officials, heavy fire ripped through a house in the 200 block of Fulton Street just before 10:30 p.m.

Offcials said fire companies arrived to find massive fire throughout a two and a half story wood-framed house with extensions to a three-story home and another two and a half story house on the other side.

Offcials said they immediately struck a second alarm then third alarm upon arrival.

As firefighters began to battle fierce fire that ripped through the homes, crews were able to make it into the structures to check for trapped and injured occupants. There were no injuries reported.

The fire was declared under control just before midnight with the cause under investigation.
