Monmouth County authorities are investigating a shooting that severely injured a male Monday night.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the 100 block of Dewitt Avenue shortly before 11:40 p.m.
When police arrive at the scene, they found the victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
EMS provided CPR on the unidentified victim before transporting him to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
