Non-Life Threatening Injuries Reported for Woman Shot in Paterson

Police are investigating the motive behind a shooting that injured a woman in Paterson overnight.

According to police, a ShotSpotter activation indicated about 20 rounds of gunfire in the vicinity of 263 East 24 Street at approximately 1:30 a.m.

Units arrived at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after they searched about two blocks, there were no injuries.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a female victim entered the emergency room suffering a bullet wound in her thigh according to reports.

Doctors treated the victim for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects remain at-large, according to police.
