Police officials in Newark are on the search for a gunman who fired multiple rounds on a city street that struck a person during the overnight hours.
The incident happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. in the 500 block of 15th Avenue where police were alerted of gunfire at that location.
Units arrived to find an unidentified male suffering gunshot wounds in his back and arm according to preliminary reports.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital for treatment and he remains in stable condition.
Police found multiple shell casings while investgiating the motive for the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
