Passaic County authorities have launched an investigation into a shooting that injured a male in Paterson early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports from police, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department at around 3:50 a.m. suffering gunshot injuries.
Police checked the vicinity of Carrol and Governor streets for a crimes scene after the victim informed them that the incident possibly occurred at that location.
Officials have not confirmed if evidence was found during their search and the incident remains under investigation.
Non-life threatening injuries are being reported at this time.
