EMS transported a male victim to University Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound in the city's South Ward.
Gunfire erupted in the 200 block of Hunterdon Street at around 8:30 sending police to the scene where they found the male victim injured by gunfire. The man's injuries was not believed to be life threatening.
The shooter remains at-large.
Newark Police are investigating.
