Non-Life Threatening Injuries Reported for 10-Year-Old Girl Struck by Car in Orange

The driver of a car that struck a child on a street in Orange stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities as officers launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.

According to preliminary reports, police and EMS were called to the vicinity of Park Avenue and Cleveland Street at approximately 8:30 p.m after receiving reports of a person struck by a car at that location.

Emergency responders arrived to find the child suffering non-life threatening injuries after the vehicle struck the girl according to reports.

EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in Newark, where she is expected to make a full recovery.

The incident remains under investigation.
