Police checked a neighborhood on North 11Street for a crime scene after a shots fired incident connected on a male this morning in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, officials at University Hospital contacted police when a male entered the hospital’s emergency department suffering a bullet wound just before 10 a.m.
Police investigating the incident learned that the victim may have been struck by gunfire on North 11th Street just before arriving at the hospital.
The victim’s injuries were not reported as life threatening according to reports.
The suspect remains at-large.
