Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the city's North Ward that injured two people last night.
A barrage of gunfire coming from a moving vehicle erupted in the area of Bloomfield and Summer Ave. sent a male and female to University Hospital in serious condition at around 8:30 p.m.
The female victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds when first responders located her on Summer and Bloomfield Ave. A thorough search of the area had authorities finding a male victim struck by gunfire in the 80's block of Bloomfield Ave. Both victim's injuries did not appear life threatening.
A grey minivan, possibly a Honda or Toyota was last seen heading westbound on Bloomfield Ave. shortly after the shooting. The passenger in the vehicle reportedly conducted the shooting.
Newark Police are investigating.
