Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Shooting Suspect

Police in Newark seeks the public’s help in identifying a suspect who is wanted for a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, January 2nd.

According to a statement released by police, shortly after 8 p.m., police responded to the 900-block of South 19th Street on a call of a shooting.

Police say upon their arrival, they found a man was shot at, but uninjured, after being followed by two men as he walked along South 19th Street from Avon Avenue.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating them and removing them from our streets.

Police described the first suspect as a male in his thirties, approximately 6’2” tall, with a light complexion and a heavy build.

Police say the man wore red pants and a red coat with two blue stripes across the chest. The jacket had fur on the hood according to police.

The second suspect is described as approximately 26-years old, 5’6” tall, 150 lbs., and dark complexion.

Police say the suspect wore black North Face pants and a black coat.
