Police on the campus of New Jersey Institue of Technology discovered a gunshot victim on their campus in Newark overnight.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of NJIT Frat Row located in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard just before 1 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found a man suffering a gunshot wound to the arm according to authorities.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries.
Police searching the scene found a shell casing and blood as they continued to canvass the area for possible suspects.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There were no reports of arrests made.
