Newark – The Essex County Sheriff’s Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Michelle Newkirk, 26, of Newark.
Police say Ms. Newkirk was fatally shot on Aug. 21, at approximately 2:11 am in front of 35 Norwood Street in the City of Newark. She was a passenger in the rear side of a vehicle that was driving on Norwood Street when gunshots were fired at the car.
Ms. Newkirk was struck and killed during the incident police said.
