Paterson Man Shot While Sitting in Driver’s Seat of Car

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 6:56, a.m. Friday, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd Paterson, on a report of a person shot.

Police said upon their arrival, they located a 40-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound.

EMS transported the victim to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment and is currently in critical condition.

Police say based on the initial investigation, the victim was shot while seated in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
