Police in Elizabeth are on the search for a suspect wanted for a shooting that sent a male to the hospital overnight.
According to preliminary reports, officials at the Trinitas Hospital contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering gunshot injuries before 12:30 a.m.
Police canvassed the vicinity of Parker Road and Riverside Drive for a crime scene after learning that the shooting may have occurred at that location.
The victim was listed in critical condition as of 4 a.m. according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
