Police in Elizabeth are investigating an early morning shooting that sent several people to the hospital.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 440 Irvington Avenue to investigate reports of shots fired that rang out shortly before 4:45 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene to find two victims suffering various gunshot wounds at that location. At least one of the victims is an adult female according to on the scene reports.
EMS rushed the pair to the hospital where doctors began treating their injuries according to reports.
While setting up a crime scene on Irvington Avenue and searching the area, police reportedly found a third victim suffering gunshot wounds on Willow Court.
There is an active and ongoing investigation underway.
There are no arrests reported.
