On This Mother's Day We Remember Newark West Ward Fatal Hit-and-Run Victim Ms. Alyce Grady

On this Mother's Day, we remember and ask the public to come forward with any information on a fatal hit-and-run of a mother that occurred in early January this 2018.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Ms. Alyce Grady, 53, of Newark died after the driver of a vehicle mowed her down on a busy street in Newark's West Ward on January 15th. The driver then sped away from the scene.

Police say at approximately 12:36 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to the intersection of South Orange and South Munn avenues where the victim was hit by a car while crossing the street.

Medical staff pronounced Grady dead at the scene at 12:52 a.m. police said. Grady was deaf and may not have been aware of the approaching vehicle.

Grady's family said police ultimately located the white Hyundai sedan with front bumper damage but have not informed them of an arrest at this time.
